District 15
State legislators are elected by district. You can only vote for candidates for State Representative in the district where you reside.
House District 15 is shown in the map on this page. You probably can't tell much detail from the map, other than the general shape of the district. If you are familiar with the shape of Dearborn Heights, you can see where it wraps around the large portion of west Dearborn that is also in the district.
The Dearborn Heights portion of District 15 includes the entire city, except for a small part of the city's northwest corner, an area north of Warren between Inkster Road and Charlesworth.
The Dearborn portion of District 15 is Precincts 33-50. You are in District 15 if you vote at any of the following Dearborn locations: Bryant, Dearborn Christian, Dearborn High, DuVall, Haigh, Howard, Lindbergh, Long, Nowlin and O.L. Smith. If you vote anywhere else in Dearborn, you are in House District 3.
The district boundaries are pretty straightforward in Dearborn, except for a choppy area in the Monroe-Carlysle area. The streets of Roosevelt, McKinley and Lincoln each have a few homes in District 15, but most homes on those streets are in District 3.
The Michigan House of Representatives consists of 110 districts, each with similar population. The 15th District includes roughly 92,900 residents.
